Williams AAB Coin Door Bypass? | EM Pinball Tech | https://leowiki.com

Rolf sent me an excellent description and write up and asked if I could post it for others to see in sheath person else is trying to convert a Williams AAB to free play. Post and pictures below : hawaii … … … ….
This JPG shows :
” ampere ” and “ B ” : I started to mount “ Door Bell ” -like “ Push-Button-Switches ” like this ( Front of my Far Out ) – in a “ Handycap-Race ” some Player ( sulfur ) is / are allowed to open the Gate ( right ) and Ball-Return ( left ) when he / they launch a newly ball …
This character of “ Switches-added ” was not satisfying .
jolly boat Roger – > hypertext transfer protocol : //www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi ? id=1314 – > “ Notes ” – > The first Williams pin with a Main-Switch – > See JPG- ” C ”.

Whenever I alter the logic of a pin or make some “ added features ” I want to turn on / OFF my “ accessory ” s – > see JPG- ” D ”.
” e ” is my construction to hold in identify 3 mounted Push-Botton-Switches ( Post-10 – > “ A ” )
” F ” : You see the back of such a switch.
” G ” : You ( barely ) see the front man of such a trade ( onto hera the screw through the front will push ).

Another matter to ( ? ) thing – to turn on and off — – if a ( old ) fall has no “ Main-Switch ” ?

“ H ”, “ J ”, “ K ” show a place near the Score-Motor of my eden. Shangri-La has NOT a Main-Switch. I can turn it on py pressing the leave Flipper-Button. BUT – HOW TO TURN IT OFF ?
” H ” is what I see, when I look into my eden. I do not see the thunderbolt underneath the Normally-Closed-Switch – the dash rests on the plywood underneath the Mech-Panel. The Bolt goes through the Mech-Panel.
If I bang with my foot from underneath upwards – > the dash “ J ” jumpstart upwards and OPENS that Normally-Closed-Switch and the pin will “ Switch-off ”. A Pre-owner has taken away the original N.C.-Switch ( ( ( “ K ” ) ) ) from my spare Mech-Panel. For the word picture and for to see : I layed a ( direction besides little ) N.C.-Switch “ K ” nearby.
See – > hypertext transfer protocol : //mirror2.ipdb.org/files/2110/Williams_1967_Shangri_La_Schematic_Diagram_paginated.pdf – > “ C-18 ” : this switch is called “ Kick-Off-Switch ” – it opens the “ Self-Hold-Circuitry ” of the Lock-Relay – > The Lock-Relay let go ( no farseeing pulling ) – > now-permanently-open is a switch ( of the Lock-Relay ) ( DANGER : HIGH CURRENT ) Schema-B-2.
It is incredible but dependable : adenine long as I have my eden turned on : ALL THAT TIME High-Current flows through that ( Schema Normally-Open ) Switch-on-Lock-Relay ! ! !
When Williams made that outline : They SHOULD have drawn this association to / from Lock-Relay-Switch “ vitamin a compact as the electrify PURPLE ( near the transformer ) ” – > WHENEVER YOU WORK ON AN OLD PIN : PULL the Line-Cord ! ! ! attend in the schema ( what you are going to work at ) ! ! !
To come to an conclusion – If I want to add-on a “ Push-Button-Switch ” to a pin : I drill a little hole through the presence, put-in a cheat – > the sleep together pushes a Switch of “ Type-K ( this JPG ) ” – You can use them as N.O.-Switch or ( turning / bending a moment ) as N.C.-Switch – to mount these switches is fairly easy.
And, jjpm, If You want to make Yourself a “ nice ” Push-Button-Switch to turn-off Your peg : Sneak-in another N.C.-Switch INTO the wire of “ here-H / here-J ”. Either a bang with your foot from underneath upwards OR manually opening that newly-added-Normally-Closed-Switch will open the Self-Hold-Circuitry of the Lock-Relay – > – > – > the peg turns off. Greetings Rolf
P.S. : The raw N.O.-Switch for to start a game must be mounted PARALLEL to ( N.O.- ) Coin-Chute-Switch. The new “ N.C.-break-the-Self-Hold-Circuitry-of-Lock-Relay-SWITCH ” must be mounted IN SERIES ( before or after ) the N.C.-Kickoff-Switch .
